Trick-Or-Treat for Real Estate

Halloween is usually associated with trick-or-treating, costume parties and candy, candy and more candy. It can also be used to market your homes or real estate business with a number of fun strategies.

* Postcards

There are several postcards out on the Internet specifically geared to home marketing. You can get them for just about any holiday or occasion, including Halloween. Or, you can make your own. While it can just be a Halloween-y greeting, if you include some useful information, your card is more likely to be saved. One idea is to include a recipe for a fall favorite, such as chocolate-chip cookies, pumpkin spice muffins or apple cider. Along, of course, with a message about the home you’re selling or your sterling qualities as a real estate agent!

* Halloween Gifts or Contests

This can get expensive, so it’s best to limit your giveaways to past and current customers, or to home buyers with proof of pre-approval. Pumpkins, Halloween themed magnets, reusable trick-or-treat bags, visibility arm or leg bands for kids, T-shirts with a Halloween motif (and your contact information!) are all great ideas.

A pumpkin carving contest or a free giveaway with the opportunity to win a Halloween gift basket are other ideas for marketing your homes or business. People love getting things for free, or winning something, so this can help boost your local image as well as getting more information out into the general public.

* Trick-or-Treat Candy Bags

If you are celebrating Halloween by handing out candy, why not tie your business card to a candy bag? This is a relatively inexpensive way to potentially market your business to hundreds of people who come by your house. You can provide your clients with free business cards tailored to selling their homes so that they can help market their house just by handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters who come to their doors.

* Sponsoring a Halloween charity event

Halloween is also the time when charity events really start getting into gear to raise money for Christmas-related philanthropic activities. If you sponsor an event for charity, it spreads your name out into the community, and often to influential people who can point future business your way.

Halloween is a great time to market your home. It’s the one holiday where people come to homes they would never dream of visiting at any other time of the year, and offers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase both your business and the homes you represent.
